Program Updates

In an effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), most of RiseBoro's Empowerment staff are working remotely. If you are seeking RiseBoro Empowerment services for issues related to housing, evictions, workforce readiness, access to benefits and/or financial assistance, please call (718) 210-2767 in order to conduct a screening and/or intake over the phone.

In 2009, RiseBoro established the Community Empowerment Center (CEC) to address the long standing social issues of homelessness, poverty, and unemployment. The CEC utilizes innovative and holistic strategies to help vulnerable New Yorkers meet the social and economic requirements of living in NYC, as well as provide the necessary support and skills to help households empower themselves and their community.

The mission of the Community Empowerment Center is to increase economic independence by challenging perspective, improving tangible skills, and inspiring the confidence to achieve. We are proud to share these values: Community; Commitment; Growth; Understanding; Collaboration; Creativity.

Our primary services include homelessness prevention, re-housing from shelter, legal services, veteran's services, public benefits enrollment, access to Rental Assistance programs, adult education and job training/placement, and mentorship.

Please review our programs and the amazing stories of our participants. We hope that you will contact our offices to learn more about our work.
