We provide services to over 6,000 seniors per year and cook approximately 757,500 hot, nutritious meals annually (serving 2,100 meals per day). Our senior services provide a wide variety of educational and health promotion services such as:

  • Tai Chi, Yoga, and Zumba
  • Computer classes
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • ESL
  • Ballroom and line dancing
  • Diabetes prevention and other health and wellness programs

All of these services enhance the lives of seniors and their families residing in our communities. These programs allow seniors to be engaged and connected and allow for opportunities for life-long learning. Our homebound services offer essential services and linkages allowing seniors to remain safely in their homes.

RiseBoro's origins began in 1973 at the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Center at 319 Stanhope St. Brooklyn. Through a multi-service approach, this senior center has provided nutritional, health promotion and social services for seniors 60 and older for over 42 years. The center continues to serve seniors from various backgrounds and cultures residing in the Bushwick and Ridgewood neighborhoods.

Our expertise in running this active, diverse center allowed RiseBoro to expand our services to 8 other senior centers and clubs in Bushwick, Williamsburg and Bedford Stuyvesant. Each center offers a wide range of programming that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of our members.
